To teach English you do not need to speak a different language. The communicative approach to English teaching allows the teacher to speak only English, so you may frequently find yourself teaching a class of people with several different mother tongues, so learning another language might not be very helpful at all.... You can also be a TEFL teacher if you are not a native speaker of English so long as you are fluent in conversation.
